CFPA 30th Anniversary
Rather late, so let us consider this a retrospective of the 30th Anniversary celebration of CPFA.
May 25, 2014 was the 30th Anniversary Celebration at the Nagoya International Center Annex Hall.
So many sponsors made the event possible, for this CPFA is very thankful.
30 years of organizing the Festival and meeting new people throughout the years has made CPFA appreciate the Filipinos, and also the Japanese who support Filipinos in Japan.
30 years of friendship and shared experiences have made CPFA a better volunteer group.
We hope to continue doing our best in the service of the Filipino community.

Pabitin
Pabitin - a popular Filipino game, where candies, toys and even money, are hung on a lattice-like bamboo frame. This it is attached to some string and placed just out of reach of children, with one person controlling the frame with the string. Once the set up is complete, the one holding the string can control the frame, making it go higher or lower. The object of the game is for the children to get as much of the goodies as they can by either jumping up to grab the items. When there are too many children, as is often the case, once a child had gotten an item, he or she, should leave and let other children get a chance to get an item.
Pabitin is a favorite game in many Filipino parties, and is quite popular in Fiestas all over the Philippine Islands.

Performers
Looking forward to the performers on May 26. Singing, dancing, and lots more! Ms. Kobayashi and Ms. Yamada, has participated many times in our Festival. Ms. Yamada also happens to be a member of CPFA! Mr. Mauricio will participate for the first time this year, however, you may have seen and heard him at the 2012 World Collabo Festa in Oasis 21, Nagoya. The Mega Beat Band will be providing live music, so everyone can dance, and maybe sing-along to the beat,
Still lots of stuff to do... Minasan gambarimasu!

29th Philippine Festival in Nagoya
The CPFA is once again preparing for the 29th Philippine Festival in Nagoya. There have been meetings, get-togethers and planning sessions. So far, so good.
The venue will be in the Nagoya International Center, Annex Hall. There will be the usual participants setting up booths, posters and other promotional materials. Food will be available for sale, Philippine food of course, and this year, there will be Brazilian chicken too! I for one, am looking forward to all the food!
The event is scheduled for the whole day, starting with the Opening Ceremony at 10am, and ending with the Philippine International Exchange Event, which we fondly refer to as "party-time," at 5pm.
For details regarding booths and participation, please call Mrs. Linda Taki 09012305298, or send an email cpfa.nagoya@gmail.com
See you on May 26 at the NIC Annex Hall!
